Continue to travel north-east to Nevada County where it is alive with history, color and personality. Centuries of gold mining, ranching and farming conjure imaginations of early settlers and days gone by.

Climb in elevation and you will find yourself in the Sierras where waterfalls cascade off breathtaking mountains that have shaped the land many centuries ago... Hike through the Alpine forest where streams of sunrays filter through to warm the forest floor and nourish pine trees, while squirrels are busy harvesting nuts for the winter. The rugged landscape is a testament to the vitality of the early settlers making their way in horse and buggy to find a better way of life. The all consuming beauty of Lake Tahoe and views of the valley below reflect harmony in a natural environment.
